In his introduction to the mass, Fr. Aurelius Pati Soge, SVD, expresses his gratitude to the parents who encourage their children to join this ministry. As the children are very much dependent on their parents, it is important to raise the awareness of the family, that the children ministry should be the commitment of the whole family. It will affect family routine, as many things might be rescheduled when children are on duties. In other words, family should sustain the spirit that has been raised within the mind of the children.

Prior to this formal acceptance, during the training, the family role proved to be crucial, as all communication and organization are done with parents. "Without parents' commitment, they are not able to maintain the services, as children eventually cannot prioritize the things yet", says Ms. Carmen Guibac, the moderator of the group of altar servers. She literally experiences all problems related to communication with children and parents. Therefore she really hopes that it will be properly taken care by the families.

The recruitment of altar servers is usually done shortly after the feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus, during which many church commonly organize first communion for children. One of prerequisite of being altar server is of having received the first communion, proved with the certificate issued by the consecutive parish.
