"Janganlah kamu takut terhadap mereka, karena tidak ada sesuatu pun yang tertutup yang tidak akan dibuka dan tidak ada sesuatu pun yang tersembunyi yang tidak akan diketahui. Apa yang Kukatakan kepadamu dalam gelap, katakanlah itu dalam terang; dan apa yang dibisikkan ke telingamu, beritakanlah itu dari atas atap rumah." |

Divine Mercy Day 2014: Tell the world the Merciful God, through patience, remorse and gratitude |

| Simple recipe of living in harmony After the solemn introductory part, the mass is celebrated as usual. In his homily, Fr. Pati Soge reminds the congregation, that the Divine Mercy devotion is a simple human act of honoring Jesus Christ, the Savior that has sacrificed himself to save all mankind. It is joyful to honor Jesus, but it is more joyful to implement this spiritual richness that might reach out and touch the hearts of many. Quoting the simple recipe for harmony in family life, at a catechesis by Pope Francis, Fr. Pati Soge emphasizes the three things: patience, remorse and gratitude, expressed in its unique way: “excuse me”, “I am sorry” and “thank you”. With patience, people respect other people along with all their weakness. With remorse, people acknowledge their weakness and willingness to correct themselves. With gratitude, people acknowledge other people’s role in their lives, which often pictures the role of God himself. When this recipe works well within Christian families, it certainly works well for the whole Church, as the church is nothing more but union of Christian families around the world. |

Colorful liturgy The international children choir makes a great contribution to the solemn celebration. All volunteers are dressed in tradition costumes, such as Anwin Francis, the commentator, Mr. and Mrs. Da Cruz, the lectors, all dressed in Indian style. Singers from three different groups come up with three songs in three different languages: Indonesian, Tagalog and Hindi. The leader of Singaporean pilgrimers, Brother Francis, then gives a short talk about the Divine Mercy devotion and invites everybody to make this devotion a part of common spiritual journey. And from now on, this devotion is one of prioritized devotions in the Bible Centre, and will be included in every Frist Friday Mass to honor the Sacred Herat of Jesus. Needless to say, this colorful celebration has been well organized by a committee of four: Ms. Nur Rahayu Pujiastutik, Mr. Anwin Francis, Mr. Ajo David Tomas and Mr. Jojo Castaneda. (ap) |
